Strong W&J Pitching Leads to Sweep of Chatham

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PITTSBURGH, PA – Washington & Jefferson out-hit Chatham University 22-6 in a doubleheader sweep on Wednesday.  W&J won the opener 6-0, then won the second game 11-2 in five innings.  The Presidents move to 12-6 overall and 6-2 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play.  Chatham falls to 6-9 overall (2-6 PAC).
 
In the opener, Chatham managed one hit, a first-inning single by Gina Abrego.  For W&J, Kelsey Cunningham hit two home runs and Jen Bahm collected two RBI.
 
In game two, Chatham took an early 2-0 lead, thanks to an RBI by Elizabeth Doman and an RBI triple by Jessica Milroy.  W&J then scored 11 unanswered runs, including another Cunningham home run, to win 11-2.
 
Ashley Lamb went 2-3 in the nightcap, while Milroy, Leigha Pehrson, and Jenn Stefano each had one hit. 
 
Chatham continues PAC play on Saturday, April 12, when they host Thomas More College.  First pitch is set for 1:00pm.
