Pittsburgh is home to many neighborhoods, each with its own unique personality. Chatham is located very close to several of these neighborhoods, Shadyside, Oakland, and Squirrel Hill. Each of these areas offers something different to explore and enjoy. Shadyside offers a wide variety of shopping and food options, as well as several art galleries. Oakland is home to one of the region's largest parks,
Schenley Park, as well as the
Carnegie Museum of Art and the
Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Squirrel Hill is a short walk from campus and contains a large business district with a wide variety of shops and cafés.
Chatham students enjoy a variety of perks associated with the city of Pittsburgh. Each student ID card comes equipped with a free bus pass for Port Authority transportation all throughout the city. Students are also encouraged to sign up for the Student Rush service, which allows them to purchase discounted tickets for Penguins, Steelers, and Pirates games, as well as an array of upcoming concerts at the local venues via text message.
