PITTSBURGH, Pa. - On Thursday, the Chatham University softball program and head coach Mike Marsili announced the hiring of new assistant coach Scott Miller.

"We are pleased to welcome Scott Miller to the Chatham Softball Coaching staff," Marsili said. "Scott brings with him collegiate coaching experience as well as a deep knowledge of the game. Scott will help us in multiple areas at practice as well as recruiting."

Prior to joining the Cougars, Miller spent seven years as an assistant coach at La Roche. While at La Roche, Miller presided primarily as the outfield coach for the Redhawks, but assisted with all areas of fielding, in-game strategy, and recruiting. During this time, Miller coached two players; a center fielder in 2023 and a third baseman in 2025, who were nominated for regional gold glove awards.

Miller played baseball from a young age through his sophomore year in college, where he was an outfielder on the club team of Division 1 Towson University. He graduated from Towson in 2012 with a degree in Psychology, and has Master's degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and La Roche University. He currently works full-time in the Office of Residence Life at Chatham University.
