PITTSBURGH PA - Chatham University proudly announces the addition of Women's Flag Football beginning play this coming spring 2025.

Backed by the NFL, Women's Flag Football is one of the fastest-growing sports across the country with at least 14 states sanctioning it as a high school sport. The non-contact sport has grown in popularity due to its safe and inclusive nature. There are now 24 NCAA DIII programs that offer Women's Flag Football, and, in 2028 it will be included in the Los Angeles Olympics."It's an exciting time to be at the forefront of sponsoring Women's Flag Football," Vice President of Athletics Leonard Trevino stated.

David Saur, current Head Women's Basketball coach of seven years, will serve as the Director of Women's Flag Football Operations. The team will play on Chatham's newly renovated "Varsity Field" on Chatham's Shadyside campus. Current or future students interested in playing flag football should reach out to David Saur d.saur@chatham.edu
