Box Score 2 PITTSBURGH, PA – The Chatham University softball team dropped a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) games on Friday to visiting Geneva College. Geneva won game one 8-2, and took game two 14-1 in five innings.
In the opener,
Leigha Pehrson got Chatham (6-15, 2-12 PAC) on the board first with a two-RBI single in the top of the first inning.
Jenn Stefano and
Elizabeth Deckelman scored on the play. Geneva (16-11, 10-2 PAC) answered with three runs in the bottom of the first, and four more in the second to go ahead 7-2. The Golden Tornadoes added one run in the fourth to cap the scoring.
Deckelman, Pehrson,
Gina Abrego, and
Erika Martin each recorded a hit for the Cougars. Lucia Fee had four RBI for Geneva.
In the nightcap, Geneva out-hit Chatham 15-3 and scored in all five innings. Chatham's lone run came in the second inning when Stefano scored on a wild pitch. Deckelman, Stefano, and
Ashley Lamb each had one hit for Chatham.
Chatham will play their final home games of the season tomorrow, April 19, when they host Penn State-New Kensington. Game one is set for 2:00pm.
