Thomas More Sweeps Chatham

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PITTSBURGH, PA – Thomas More's Jamie Ertel and Mamee Salzar threw a combined no-hitter as part of the Saints' sweep of Chatham University on Saturday.  Thomas More won the opener 11-0 in five innings, and took the nightcap 6-0, thanks to the no-hitter.
 
The Saints improve to 17-6 overall and 6-0 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play.  Chatham moves to 6-11 overall (2-8 PAC).
 
In game one, Thomas More jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the first inning, and scored two more runs in both third and fourth innings.
 
Elizabeth Deckelman went 2-3 at the plate, while Anne Marie Brnardic went 1-2.
 
In the second game of the doubleheader, Thomas More scored three runs in the second inning and three in the seventh to win 6-0.  Ertel threw the first two innings on the mound, while Salzar was on the mound for the final five.
 
Chatham will next travel to La Roche College on Monday, April 14.  Game one of the doubleheader is set for 3:00pm.
