GREENVILLE, Pa. - May 17, 2021 - Graduate students Kayla Gee and Lauren McNany have been named to the 2021 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) All-Conference Second Team for their efforts this season.
Kayla Gee assumed the starting role on the mound this year, leading Chatham pitchers in innings played with 103. Gee broke the single-season strikeout record with a conference-leading 126, including 32 looking. Gee finished the season with eight wins and one save, allowing just 65 hits overall.
Lauren McNany was an asset to the Cougar offense this season, batting a team-high .347 with an on-base percentage of .370. In 32 games played, McNany had 33 hits (ranked second on the team) including eight doubles, which accounted for six RBIs and 11 of her own runs scored. In the field, McNany had 34 assists and helped complete three double plays.
Graduate Paige Shaftic and first-year Mackenzie Dunn also earned recognition as All-PAC Honorable Mentions. Shaftic had 22 hits and eight RBIs on the season, including several game-winners. Dunn had 31 hits, three of which were home runs with nine doubles, six triples, and 25 RBIs.
The Cougars finished 13-20 overall, 8-10 in PAC play which earned them their first playoff berth in program history.
