Track and Field Finishes Strong On Day 2 At CMU

Pittsburgh, PA - On Saturday, Chatham Track and Field wrapped up a competitive week of play on day two of the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. 

Sophomore Emenet Richardson was the top finisher for the Cougars, landing 6th overall in women's javelin. Fellow sophomore Najiyah Smith competed in the women's high jump event, finishing 12th. Smith's strong day continued with a 15th-place finish in the women's triple jump. On the men's side of the triple jump, senior Brett Poles matched with a 15th-place showing. On the track, junior Demetrius Broadnax crossed the line in 17th position for the men's 200m event.

The women's discus throw saw two Cougars compete hard. Senior Kayla Johnson and junior Sarah Yannayon finished 15th and 18th, respectively. Likewise, sophomore Max Rollins and senior Brett Poles finished in 20th and 22nd for the men's long jump. 

Track and Field returns to action on Saturday, April 11th. The Cougars open up PAC play by traveling to Westminster College.
