MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Track and Field opened play on day one of the 2026 PAC Championship on Friday. After one day of competition, the women's team is tied for ninth place, while the men's team did not qualify for a team score.
Leading the way for the Cougars was Najiyah Smith. Smith earned 6th place showing in the women's triple jump. Emenet Richardson followed suit, placing 8th in the women's javelin. Sarah Yannayon had a strong day, earning a personal best 36.21m in the women's hammer throw event, placing 12th overall. Isabella Brunetto also placed 12th in the women's 3000m steeple, finishing with a time of 13:26.87, another personal best. On the men's side, Brett Poles earned a 10th-place finish in the men's triple jump.
The Cougars will be back in action for day two of the PAC Championship from Morgantown, W.Va, tomorrow, Friday, May 1st. The men's hammer throw competition will kick the day off at 10 am.
