The 2026 Championship will open up on the field with the pole vault and women's hammer competitions at 1:30 pm, followed by javelin and triple jump, on Thursday. Day one will also include eight different track events, starting at 4:30 pm with the women's 10,000m run wrapping up the day's festivities. Day two will kick off with the men's hammer throw at 10 am, followed by the high jump, long jump, shot put, and discus events. At 12:30 pm, the bulk of the track events will begin, ending with the women's 1600-meter relay at 4:50 pm. The final awards ceremony is tentatively scheduled to wrap up the 2026 version of the PAC Championship at 5:10 pm on Friday.

The Cougars finished last season at the 2025 Championship, fourth on the women's side and 11th on the men's side. The Pre-Champs Coaches Poll projects that this season's rendition of the Cougars will finish 11th (22) for the women and 12th (14) for the men.

On the women's side, the Cougars are currently placed in the top ten in five different events in the 2026 PAC Performance List. Emenet Richardson, currently ranked 7th in women's javelin, is looking to build off an 8th-place finish at last season's championship. Richardson earned both a first and second place finish in two invitationals leading up to the Championship. Kayla Johnson, who placed 5th in the 2025 PAC Championship, is currently ranked 7th in the women's javelin event. Johnson is looking to build on a first-place showing at the Juniata Invitational last week. Johnson also finished top-15 in the women's shot put event at last season's championship.  Najiyah Smith currently ranks in the top ten for the triple, high, and long jump competitions, after finishing last year 9th, 13th, and 17th, respectively, in each event. Johnson earned first-place and second-place showings in the high jump in each of the last two invitationals.

Sarah Yannayon will also be returning after a top-ten showing in the women's discus event in the 2025 Championship after finishing second in the event at the Joshua Culbreath Invitational earlier this season. Other top-20 finishers returning include Virginia Maklin and Isabella Brunetto. Brunetto is coming off a 1st place finish in the 3000m Steeple event at the Juniata Invitational. Newcomer Eliana Borne is also one to watch out for.

On the men's side, Max Rollins currently ranks top-five for the men's long jump event in the 2026 PAC Performance List. Rollins is looking to build off of a strong showing in last season's championship and first-place finish in the long jump at the Joshua Culbreath Invitational. The Cougars will also be returning Seth Sager and Brett Poles, who both currently rank in the top ten in the high jump and triple jump events, respectively. Sager finished 3rd, and Poles finished 11th at the 2025 Championship. The pair also finished in the top five at the Joshua Culbreath Invitational earlier in the season.
