Track and Field Competes At Juniata Invitational

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – On Saturday, Chatham men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Juniata Invitational. 

The Chatham women's team placed 4th out of 6 teams, finishing the meet with 66 points. 

A trio of Cougars finished in the top spot of their respective events. Isabella Brunetto took home 1st place in the women's 3000m steeple with a time of 13:39.95. Najiyah Smith earned the top position in the women's high jump with a score of 1.47m. An event long 35.64m resulted in Kayla Johnson finishing 1st in women's high jump. Najiyah Smith earned the top position in the women's high jump with a score of 1.47m. The three athletes earned 10 team points each. Smith followed up her 1st place finish, earning another podium finish, 3rd, in the women's triple jump. Other top finishers included Emenet Richardson, who placed 2nd in the women's javelin event. Eliana Borne had two top-5 finishes on the track, earning 3rd place in the women's 1500m and 5th in the women's 800m. On the field, Sarah Yannayon earned a 5th-place finish in the women's hammer and shot put competitions. 

The men's team placed 5th out of 5 teams, finishing with 12 total team points. 

Demetrius Broadnax was the top Cougar, finishing 5th in the men's 400m race. Max Rollins had a strong outing, finishing in the top 10 in both the men's 400m hurdles and men's long jump. Julien Collyer rounded things out with two 8th place finishes in the men's 200m and 400m races. 

Track and Field will wrap up their season at the PAC Championship on April 30th and May 1st in New Wilmington, PA.
