PITTSBURGH - On Monday, Chatham Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Leonard Trevino announced the hiring of Yuri Franca as Head Men's and Women's Squash Coach.

"I'm excited to announced Yuri Franca as our Squash coach," Trevino shared. "He brings a wealth of experience, and I'm confident he will move us forward competitively."

Franca joins the Cougars after serving as Assistant Squash Coach for Amherst College since 2022, where he was responsible for scouting, recruiting and implementation of practice plans. With Franca as an assistant coach, the men's team at Amherst finished #17, while the women's team were runners-up at the Kurtz Cup, finishing #14 in the country. Additionally, the Amherst staff was honored with the NESCAC Coaching Staff of the Year award.

Prior to Amherst, Franca served as head coach for Enjoy Squash Club in Brazil and San Diego Squash Club, as well as Squash Director for Access Youth Academy in San Diego.
