Men's Squash Reaches Cup Final, Women's Squash Falls in Semis

PHILADELPHIA – Chatham Men's Squash (5-7) advanced to the Summers Cup Final, while Women's Squash (4-9) dropped their semifinal matchup of the CSA Divisional Team Championships on Saturday.
 
The fourth-seeded Men's team took down first-seeded Bowdoin (9-8) 5-4. Alejandro Cruz (11-8, 12-10, 11-6) swept his seven-seed matchup. Sebastian Antonio Vaca Sanchez (9-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-6), Abdelrahman Walid Sadek (7-11, 11-6, 12-10, 11-9) and Agustin Carranza (8-11, 11-6, 11-2, 11-5) all came back to win their matches 3-1. Muhammad Hassaan Raza (11-7, 7-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-6) won the six-seed matchup 3-2. The Cougars advance to the final, where they'll face third-seeded Bates tomorrow at 12 p.m.
 
The sixth-seeded Women's team fell to second-seeded Franklin and Marshall (6-12) by a 7-2 scoreline. Vasundhra Vasanthan (11-9, 11-9, 11-9) swept her two-seed matchup and Clara Braga (11-0, 12-10, 11-6) swept her three-seed matchup. The Cougars were four players short in this match. Chatham will face fifth-seeded Denison, who they fell to 6-3 earlier in the season, in the third-place game on Sunday at 9 a.m.
