Cougars Swept by Bison

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PITTSBURGH, Pa. – APRIL 4th, 2017 – The Chatham Cougars took on PAC foe Bethany College. The Bison defeated the Cougars in both games.   

The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (3-10, 0-3 PAC) Bethany (9-12, 3-0 PAC)
  • Location: Bison Field in Bethany, W. Va.  
 
Game 1
  • The Cougars fell 10-1.
  • Bethany got an early lead and Chatham was unable to recover.
  • Brianna Clark and Katie McClelland each earned one hit for the Cougars.
  • Samantha Crilley pitched the first inning and one pitch in the second inning.
  • Madison Howell came in for Crilley at the mound pitching the final three innings.
 
Game 2
  • Chatham to Bethany 5-1 in the second game.
  • Clark, McClelland, Howell and Marissa Wightman each tallied a hit for the team.
  • Holly Ackerman and Crilley each stole a base.
  • Ackerman scored the only run for the Cougars after Wightman singled up the middle in the fifth inning.
  • Howell pitched a complete game with four strikeouts.
 
Up next
  • The Cougars will be back on the field April 5th at Point Park University.

Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA is a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and offers nine Division III women's sports and seven men's sports. The athletic program is housed on Chatham's historic and beautiful Shadyside Campus in the $18 million, 74,000 square foot Athletic and Fitness Center (AFC). Women's sports at Chatham include basketball, cross country, ice hockey, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, track & field, and volleyball. Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five men's sports competing this academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
