Cougars Fall to Geneva

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – APRIL 20th, 2017 – The Chatham Cougars were swept by the Geneva Golden Tornadoes.

The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (6-22, 2-12 PAC) Geneva (19-13, 8-6 PAC)
  • Location: Conrady Field in Beaver Falls, Pa.  
 
Game 1
  • The Cougars fell to the Golden Tornadoes 6-0.
  • Kassandra Petersen and Katie McClelland each recorded one hit.
  • Madison Howell pitched 5.1 innings for Chatham.
 
Game 2
  • Chatham fell just short of a comeback to Geneva 7-6.
  • The Cougars were first on the board with Petersen reached on an error sending McClelland home in the first inning.
  • Kassandra Deane grounded out to second base and Samantha Crilley scored.
  • McClelland reached on an error by left field sending Holly Ackerman and Hunter Payne home.
  • In the third inning Petersen hit a homerun to put the Cougars up 5-0.
  • Geneva would score three runs in the fourth inning.
  • Crilley singled to center field allowing Petersen to score on the throw in the fifth inning.
  • Geneva answered back with a run of their own in the fifth inning.
  • In the top of the seventh, Chatham was ahead 6-5.
  • In the seventh inning, Geneva scored three runs.

Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA is a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and offers nine Division III women's sports and seven men's sports. The athletic program is housed on Chatham's historic and beautiful Shadyside Campus in the $18 million, 74,000 square foot Athletic and Fitness Center (AFC). Women's sports at Chatham include basketball, cross country, ice hockey, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, track & field, and volleyball. Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five men's sports competing this academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
