Cougars Compete at Fastpitch Dreams Classic

Box Score 1 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. –MARCH 5^th, 2017 – The Chatham Cougars are competing in the Fastpitch Dreams Collegiate Tournament in North Myrtle Beach this week.

The Basics

Tournament: Fastpitch Dreams Collegiate Classic
The Cougars will take on La Roche, Penn State Harrisburg, King's College, Cedar Crest, Penn State Schuylkill, Medaille, Eureka, Hilbert and Robert Morris Springfield.

Chatham's 3-1 win against La Roche was Head Coach Deanna Tritinger's first career win.

Game 1

The Cougars downed La Roche 3-1.
Chatham scored on a single by Kassandra Petersen, a single by Kassandra Deane, and a fielder's choice in the first inning.
As a team, the Cougars collected ten hits.
Samantha Crilley, Marissa Wightman, and Kassandra Deane each totaled two hits.
Pitcher Madison Howell tossed the complete game in her first collegiate start. She surrendered four hits over the 7.0 innings while striking out seven and walking just one.

Game 2

The Cougars fell to Penn State Harrisburg 11-0.
Samantha Crilley pitched 2.1 innings for Chatham.
Madison Howell pitched 1.2 innings with three strikeouts.
Crilley would get the only hit for the team going 1-for-2 at the plate.

Game 3

Chatham was defeated 9-1 by King's College.
Marissa Wightman and Brianna Clark would each tab two hits.
Clark would score the Cougars only run.
Samantha Crilley was the pitcher for 2.1 innings.
Madison Howell pitched 4.2 innings with three strikeouts.

Game 4

Chatham fell to Cedar Crest 16-3.
Marissa Wightman went 2-for-3 at the plate and tallied two runs.
Madison Howell pitched for 3.1 innings with three strikeouts.
Samantha Crilley pitched 1.2 innings.

Game 5

The Cougars fell in the final inning to Penn State Schuylkill 13-11.

Game 6

Chatham defeated Medaille 13-12.

Game 7

The Cougars were defeated by Eureka 6-0.
Holly Ackerman and Brianna Clark would each earn a single hit.
Madison Howell pitched the complete game for Chatham earning four strikeouts and surrendering six hits and six runs.

Game 8

Chatham lost to the Hilbert Hawks 8-0.
Kasandra Petersen would tally the only hit for the Cougars with a triple.
Samantha Crilley pitched all seven innings giving up ten hits and eight runs with six strikeouts.

Game 9

The Cougars will take on Robert Morris – Springfield in the final game of their spring trip Friday at 9:30 am.
