#1 Plattsburgh State Defeats Chatham 7-1

Box Score PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – JANUARY 15TH, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars fell to Plattsburgh State 7-1. The Cardinals are currently ranked #1 in DIII Ice Hockey by USCHO and D3hockey.com.

How it happened
  • The first period would remain scoreless.
  • In the second period, the Cardinals would score three goals.
  • Junior Cassidy Colhoun (Kincardine, ONT / Saugeen-Mailland Lightning) would score at 15:31 in the second period on a power play assisted by junior Kassandra Petersen (Faribault, Minn. / Minnesota Blades).
  • Plattsburgh State would score four unanswered goals in the third period to end the game.
  • Petersen led the team with five shots on goal.
 
In the goal
  • Junior goaltender Sydney Isbell (Thunder Bay, ONT / Thunder Bay Queens) made an impressive 66 saves this afternoon with seven goals against.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
