Chatham Softball Drops Two VS. Thomas More; 10-0, 20-0

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PITTSBURGH, Pa. - APRIL 18th, 2016 -- The Chatham University Softball team hosted the Saints from Thomas More yesterday afternoon in a two game double-header. Chatham would fall in both games yesterday, losing 10-0 in the first game, and 20-0 in the second game. Chatham is now 2-21 overall on the season, and 0-10 in conference play.

In the first game of the day, Thomas More scored five runs in the second, one in the fourth, and four in the fifth. Chatham would be shutout in just five innings of play. Chatham would only have 2 hits in the game. First Year Samantha Crilley (Zelienople, Pa. / Seneca Valley) and Sophomore Lyndsey Gallaway (Wooster, Ohio / Wooster) would be the only two Cougars that would hit yesterday. In the game, Chatham would be out hit 11-2 by the Saints, and would also commit 5 errors in the game.

In the second game of the day, Thomas More scored five runs in the first, two in the second, three in the third, one in the fourth, and nine in the fifth, while holding the Cougars scoreless for the 20-0 win in five innings. Once again Chatham would only be able to produce 2 hits, both coming from Senior Leigha Pehrson (Mt. Pleasant, Pa. / Mount Pleasant).

The Chatham University Softball team will return to the field on Saturday, April 23rd when they travel to Latrobe, Pennsylvania to take on the Bearcats of Saint Vincent College in a two game double-header beginning at 1:00 p.m.
