Cougars Wrap Up 2015-16 Postseason; Fall At Waynesburg 80-58

Box Score WAYNESBURG, PA. – FEBRUARY 24th, 2016 -- The Chatham University Women's Basketball team traveled to Waynesburg College to take on the Yellow Jackets in the PAC Tournament Quarterfinals. The Cougars fell to the third seed Yellow Jackets 80-58. Chatham wraps up the 2015-16 season with a 11-16 overall record and 6-13 PAC record.

Two Cougars finished the game in double digits. First Year Ashley McClain (Hollidaysburg, Pa. / Hollidaysburg) led the team with 14 points. McClain also had 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Sophomore Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Serra Catholic) scored 12 points and collected 3 assists. Junior Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa. / Thomas Jefferson) and First Year Katelyn Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Serra Catholic) led the team in rebounds each grabbing 5.

This has been quite the season for the Cougars! Monday marked the first playoff win since 2010 and the first time Chatham hosted a playoff game since joining the PAC in 2007. Head Coach Sandy Rectenwald and her team earned 11 wins for the best record in five years here at Chatham. Senior Rachel McClain (Hollidaysburg, Pa. / Hollidaysburg) hit over 1,000 career points and is now the second highest scorer in Chatham history. First Year Katelyn Sieg was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week two weeks in a row. Junior Jesse Hinkle finished the season posting 5 double doubles, a tremendous achievement for any player.

First Year Katelyn Sieg led the team in scoring this season with an impressive 297 points. Junior Jesse Hinkle led the team in rebounds pulling down a total of 189. Sophomore Megan Sieg had the most assists this season with 65. Sieg also led the team in steals with 72, averaging 2.8 per game. Sieg now holds the All-Time Record for steals in a season.
