Box Score 2 Crestview Hills, KY. – (4/11/2015) – The Chatham University softball team took to the road for a doubleheader against Thomas Moore. The Cougars lost both games to the Saints, 16-0 and 18-0 by mercy rule.
Senior
Elizabeth Deckelman (Baltimore, MD; SS/P) went 1 for 4 on the day earning a double for Chatham, and senior
Leigha Pehrson (Mt. Pleasant, PA, P/1B) went 1 for 4 as well. First year
Lyndsey Gallaway (Wooster, OH; 1B/P) went 1 for 2 in game two, also recording a stolen base against the Saints.
Pehrson had a long day, giving up 31 runs on 34 hits. She walked 3 and struck out 3 after facing 27 batters in game 1 and 34 batters in game 2. Pehrson pitched 7 innings in all between both games before she was relieved by Deckelman. Deckelman walked one and struck out one, in her single inning duty as pitcher in game one.
Chatham will be back in action when they visit Washington & Jefferson College, Monday April 13, 2015 for a doubleheader against the Presidents. The games are scheduled to start at 3:30 and 5:30 pm in Washington, PA. Chatham will play six of their remaining ten games at home, with remaining away games at Washington & Jefferson College and Geneva College. The Cougars are currently 3-13 on the season and 2-4 at home, and hoping to improve on their record.
