Box Score 2 Pittsburgh, Pa. – (3/19/2015) – The Chatham University softball team took Varsity Field today for their first game of 2015, hosting the Medaille College Mavericks. The Cougars would fall in both games, 8-0 and 18-3. Their first scheduled game against Mount Aloysius had to be postponed. Chatham will play three more teams before PAC play begins.
Chatham played tough today, working on their fundamentals and positions against the Mavericks. Both offenses were quiet early in game one until Medaille caught fire in the 3
rd and 4
th innings. Senior
Leigha Pehrson (Mt. Pleasant, Pa) pitched a strong game, and junior outfielder
Erika Bronk (Fairport, NY) made great plays on the ball. Bronk also got a hit in game one.
Pehrson pitched a tough game 2 against the Mavericks. She got some help in the 3
rd inning when junior outfielder Dalai Ghanem scored a run. Senior third basemen
Gina Abrego reached home on a Medaille error, while Bronk scored on a Pehrson single.
Chatham willl take the field again on Saturday, March 20th when they travel to
Circleville, OH to play a doubleheader against Ohio Christian Universtiy.
