Cougars Fall to Waynesburg

Box Score Waynesburg, Pa. – (2/21/2015) – The Chatham University basketball team finished the regular season with a 58-81 loss to PAC opponent Waynesburg University this afternoon. The loss gave Chatham a 6-19 record overall, with a mark of 3-15 against PAC opponents this season.
 
Three Cougars finished with double-digit points against the Yellow jackets, senior forward Emily Schmidt (Eighty-Four, Pa) led all scorers with 22 points. Junior guard Rachel McClain (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) and first year guard Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa.) each earned 13 points for Chatham.
 
Sophomore forward Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa) earned six points, as well as nine rebounds and four assists. Schmidt recorded five rebounds as well as two blocks and two assists. McClain also nabbed 13 rebounds assists and one steal.
 
McClain ends the season with 295 points, while Sieg earned 279. Schmidt ends her season with 89 points, 61 rebounds and 13 blocks. 
 
This afternoon, Chatham recorded three points off Waynesburg turnovers. The Cougars  recorded six points from the bench and earned 28 points in the paint. Chatham also scored seven second chance points. The team also went 20-30 in the game on free throws.

Chatham will add six new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field, and volleyball.
