Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA - NOVEMBER 14, 2015 - The Chatham University Women's Ice Hockey team returned to the ice for the second straight day and once again faced off against the Cardinals from Plattsburgh State University of New York. The Cougars would lose their second consecutive game 8-0, and begin the 2015-2016 season 0-2-0.
The Cardinals would jump out to an early start, scoring three goals in the first period. Two out of the three goals would come on power plays for the Cardinals and would be scored by Sophomore Kayla Meneghin (Clifton, New Jersey).
More of the same would occur in the second period, with the Cardinals scoring 4 more goals. First Year Courtney Moriarty (Estero, Florida) for the Cardinals would extend her goal streak to three straight games by finding the back of the net twice in the second period.
The Cardinals would find the back of the net one more time late in the third period by a goal from Muna Fadel (Belle River, Ontario).
Sophomore Goaltender Sydney Isbell (Thunder Bay, Ontario) for the Cougars played the first two periods making 24 saves. Isbell would be relieved in the third period by Sophomore Marissa Janiga (East Aurora, New York) who would make 13 saves on 14 shots.
Plattsburgh State improves now to a perfect 6-0-0 record on the season, while the Cougars fall to 0-2-0.
The Cougars will now play their next ten games on the road, and will not return home until January 15th. Chatham will face off first against the Bengals from Buffalo State University of New York on Friday, November 20th at 4:00 p.m.
