Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa - NOVEMBER 13, 2015 - The Chatham University Women's Ice Hockey team dropped their season opener tonight 4-0 to the defending Division III National Champions Plattsburgh State.
Plattsburgh State opened the game with two goals in the first period scored by Sophomore Melissa Sheeran and Sophomore Kayla Meneghin. Meneghin would add her second goal of the game late in the second period converting on a power play, making the score 3-0. Sheeran would then seal the game for the Cardinals by scoring her second goal of the game at the 3:36 mark in the third period.
Plattsburgh State owned a 42-16 shot advantage for the game, and would convert on one of their three power play opportunities.Â
The Cougars Sophomore Goaltender Sydney Isbell (Thunder Bay, ONT/Thunder Bay Queens) would finish the game with 38 saves on 42 shots.
Chatham falls to 0-1-0 (0-1-0 ECACW) on the season. The two teams will face each other again tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. to close out the weekend double header.
