Stevenson Edges Chatham, 2-1

Box Score FOX CHAPEL, PA – The Chatham University Ice Hockey team fell to visiting Stevenson University 2-1 on Sunday on the Cougars' Senior Night. Seniors Morgan Becer, Jenna Cosham, Casey Morfeld, and Kaitlynn Smith were honored before the game.

Chatham falls to 4-15-2 overall, while Stevenson moves to 8-14-1.

After a scoreless first period, Stevenson's McKenzie Taggart scored to put the Mustangs up 1-0. With just over six minutes remaining in the second period, Brittany Yoisten found the back of the net to tie the game at one. Becer recorded the assist on the goal.

At the 13:13 mark of the third period, Megan Alexander put Stevenson up 2-1.

Smith got the start in net, making two saves. Megan Buchanan played the majority of the game, saving 23 Stevenson shots. Becer recorded six shots for Chatham, while Morfeld, Yoisten, and Marie Soukup each tallied three shots.

Chatham will play their final home weekend series on February 15-16 when they host #1 Plattsburgh State.
