Sophomore defender
Lily Schmear, a Neenah, WI native, burst onto the scene for the Cougars women's hockey team appearing in 23 games as a first year. She followed that by playing in all 25 of the Cougars games this most recent season. The defender has recorded three goals and three assists in her career while also recording 46 blocked shots. The D3 experience has helped Lily cultivate her skills on and off the ice.

Why did I choose D3?Â
I chose to play D3 hockey because I really liked the small atmosphere of a smaller school. I also knew playing D3 would be best for my development as a player, and I would fit in on the team!
What do I enjoy most about D3?Â
The best part about playing hockey at Chatham is having a close relationship with my teammates and the athletic community. I have been able to grow as a hockey player as well as focus on my academics. The small school atmosphere allows me to get individualized support from professors and build close relationships. I have also been able to explore coaching opportunities and grow my personal network through connections I have made!
