#1 Plattsburgh State Defeats Chatham 12-1

Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA – Chatham University fell to the nation's top ranked team, Plattsburgh State, 12-1 on Saturday. Chatham is now 4-16-2 on the year, and 3-10-0 in ECAC-West play. #1 Plattsburgh State improves to 20-1-1 overall and 12-1-0 in the conference.

Coming into the game, Plattsburgh had only allowed nine goals all season. Chatham's McKenzie Haskins scored number ten 8:40 into the third period, marking the first goal of her career. Kaitlyn Perrins recorded the assist on the goal.

For Plattsburgh, Alyssa Parke, Bridget Balisy, and Tyne Gove each scored two goals.

Casey Morfeld led Chatham with three shots, while Brittany Yoisten tallied two. Kaitlynn Smith got the start in goal for the Cougars and played the first two periods. She faced 39 shots, making 31 saves. Megan Buchanan played the third period, saving 13 of 17 Plattsburgh shots.

Despite the loss, Chatham maintains their hold on the #6 spot in the ECAC-West standings. The Cougars have three conference games remaining in the regular season; one versus Plattsburgh and two against SUNY Cortland.

Chatham and Plattsburgh play again tomorrow, February 16, at 1:00pm.
