Chatham Basketball Defeated by W&J 86-39

Box Score WASHINGTON, PA – Jesse Hinkle continued her strong play, recording her seventh double-double in her last eight games, but Chatham University fell to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Washington & Jefferson College on Saturday, 86-39.

Hinkle led the Cougars (3-20, 2-14 PAC) with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Becky Rowe drained three threes, leading to nine points. Elizabeth Lewis scored six points and dished out a team-high three assists. Chelsea Kovalcsik grabbed six rebounds and Emily Schmidt recorded two blocked shots.

Chelsea Apke led W&J (16-7, 11-5 PAC) with 16 points on 7-8 shooting. Alexa Burzese and Tori Bishop each scored 12, and Beka Bellhy tallied 11.

W&J shot 33-64 (51.6%) from the floor for the game, while Chatham went 15-62 (24.2%). Chatham made four three pointers to W&J's two, but the Presidents held an 18-5 advantage in made free throws.

Chatham will next travel to Thiel College on Wednesday, February 26 for a 7:00pm tip-off.
