Box Score GROVE CITY, PA – Three Chatham players scored in double figures, but the Cougars fell to Grove City College 72-62 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Wednesday.

Rachel McClain scored 17 for Chatham (2-10, 1-4 PAC) while Anna Shashura netted 13, including nine on three pointers. Jesse Hinkle recorded a double-double, scoring 10 points on 5-8 shooting, and grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds.

Grove City (2-9, 1-4 PAC) started the game on a 17-2 run and held a 21 point lead with six minutes to play in the first half. Chatham ended the half on a 13-8 run, cutting the halftime score to 41-25.

Chatham connected on their first five shots of the second half, including two free throws, to bring the score to 41-34. The Cougars kept the game close until a 9-0 GCC spurt put them up 62-46 with 6:48 remaining. Chatham got back within eight at the 2:30 mark, but could not complete the comeback.

Kelsey Shirey led Grove City with 22 points. Mary McDonald tallied 11 and had 11 rebounds. Annie Wells also scored 11 for the Wolverines.

Chatham shot 22-52 (42.3%) from the floor, while GCC shot 30-76 (39.5%).

Chatham hosts Washington & Jefferson College on Saturday, January 11. Tip-off in the AFC is set for 2:00pm.
