Box Score ASTON, PA – Neumann's Megan Power scored with 1:35 remaining in overtime to give the Knights a 3-2 victory over Chatham University in ECAC-West action on Friday. Chatham falls to 3-13-2 overall and 2-9-0 in conference play. Neumann improves to 4-12-1 overall and 2-6-1 in the ECAC-West. The game marked the second consecutive overtime loss for the Cougars.
After Neumann took a 1-0 lead through one period,
Katrina Hawkins tied the game on a power play goal at the 2:53 mark of the second period.
Erika Bronk and
Kaitlyn Perrins recorded the assists. Less than two minutes later,
Morgan Becer put the Cougars up one with a penalty shot that found the back of the net.
The Knights tied the game at two in the second period, and neither team scored in the third, forcing overtime.
Becer led Chatham with four shots while
Brianna Rice tallied three. Five different Chatham players recorded two shots. Neumann out-shot Chatham for the game 57-19. In net,
Megan Buchanan made 54 saves.
Chatham went 1-5 on their power play while holding Neumann to 0-4 on theirs.
These two teams play again tomorrow at 3:00pm.
