Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA – A record-setting day from Rachel McClain led Chatham University to an 82-39 thumping of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Geneva College on Saturday.

McClain broke her own school record by connecting on nine three pointers. She scored 35 points, which set a career-high. Her 35 is just four points shy of the Chatham single-game record of 39. McClain shot 12-17 from the field, including 9-13 from three point territory, and had three assists.

Jessica Manfredi and Emily Schmidt each tallied 10 points. Manfredi led the Cougars (2-6 overall, 1-1 PAC) with eight assists and three steals. Chelsea Kovalcsik grabbed 12 rebounds, while Jesse Hinkle had 10.

Heidi Mann and Miranda Heaney each scored eight points for Geneva (0-7, 0-2 PAC). Nicole Hyland recorded 11 rebounds.

Chatham never trailed in the game, and jumped out to an early 13-2 advantage. Geneva then cut the deficit to eight, but an 11-2 Chatham run put the Cougars up 26-9 midway through the first half. Chatham closed the half on a 7-0 run to go into halftime with a 45-20 lead.

Up 47-25 at the 16:38 mark of the second half, Chatham went on a 21-2 run to take a commanding 41 point lead with just under 10 minutes remaining in the contest.

Chatham was a perfect 12-12 from the free throw line for the game and shot 14-34 (41.2%) from beyond the arc. Geneva made just one of 16 three point attempts.

Chatham is back in action next Saturday, December 14, when they host #7 Thomas More College. Tip-off is set for 2:00pm at nearby Oakland Catholic High School.
