Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA – Carnegie Mellon University had three players score in double figures in an 85-30 victory over Chatham University on Monday. CMU improves to 7-2 overall, while the Cougars fall to 2-8.

Emily Schmidt led Chatham with eight points. She also grabbed four rebounds. Rachel McClain drained a pair of threes, leading to six points. Chelsea Kovalcsik and Anna Shashura each scored four. Jesse Hinkle led Chatham with 10 rebounds.

Lisa Murphy led the Tartans with 15 points. Liza Otto scored 13 and pulled down 14 rebounds. Gabrielle West tallied 12 points.

After CMU jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead, Chatham responded with a 9-5 run to close the gap to four with 14 minutes to play. A McClain three pointer at the 6:37 mark of the first half brought the score to 27-16. Chatham's offense went cold from there, however, connecting on just three field goals for the remainder of the contest.

Carnegie Mellon shot 33-76 (43.4%) from the floor, while Chatham connected on 9-50 attempts (18.0%). CMU forced 30 Chatham turnovers, leading to 27 points. The Tartans held advantages in points in the paint (48-4) and fast break points (18-0).

Chatham returns to action on Saturday, January 4, when they host Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Westminster College. Tip-off is set for 2:00pm in the Athletic & Fitness Center.
