Box Score GREENVILLE, PA - Rachel McClain (Fy., Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) scored 19 points, including going 5-6 from three point territory, but the Chatham University basketball team fell on the road to Thiel College 70-56 on Wednesday. Chatham falls to 2-14 overall and 1-8 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play. The Tomcats improve to 3-13 (2-7 PAC).

McClain also led the Cougars with three steals. Emily Schmidt (So., Eighty Four, PA/Ringgold) followed with 11 points, while Chelsea Kovalcsik (Fy., Berea, OH/Berea) grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

For Thiel, Kelly Muffley recorded a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. Kelly Barzak chipped in with 18 points and six blocked shots.

The game was close the entire first half, as neither team led by more than three until McClain drained a three pointer with 9:23 remaining in the half to put Chatham up 24-19. Chatham increased that lead to 25-19 before Thiel ended the half on a 10-0 run to take a 29-25 lead into halftime.

Thiel's momentum continued in the second half as they started the half on an 11-3 run to take a 40-28 lead just under five minutes into the period. The Tomcats increased their lead to 51-33 with 11:26 to play, marking their biggest lead of the contest.

Chatham had ten players score in the game and shot 6-10 from beyond the arc. Thiel also shot well from three point territory, knocking down seven of 14 attempts.

Chatham returns to PAC action on Saturday, January 19 when they travel to St. Vincent College at 2:00pm.
