Ty Blackburn, the infielder from Columbus, Ohio, has become very versatile for the baseball team. The junior has recorded an on-base percentage of .424. Along with that standout statistic, Blackburn has also recorded 19 RBI's and 27 runs scored, making him effective for driving teammates and putting himself in a scoring position. Studying marketing, Ty has been able to feel connected here at Chatham and values the community.

Why D3:

I chose D3 because it gave me an opportunity to continue to play while having a focus on academics. I loved having a smaller campus. I also wanted to be able to be personable with my professors. The feeling of community drew me into Division 3. 

What do you enjoy most about D3 athletics:

I love D3 because it's a great group of people with one goal. Nobody is better than or above the next person. I love D3 because there is a sense of community on the small campus. A campus with a ton of athletes makes everyone feel connected.
