Read more about Lauren's thoughts on Chatham and D3 athletics:

Why D3:

I chose D3 because I wanted to be able to focus my education, and be at a smaller school, while continuing to play soccer. To me, soccer is just something that brings joy, so I knew I wanted to continue while I'm in college but I didn't want it to overpower my education as that is ultimately what I was choosing a school for. D3 provides the perfect amount of competitiveness while still focusing on fostering my education. Allowing me the space I need to learn, better preparing me for a career in the future.

What do you enjoy most about D3 athletics:

I really enjoy that I get to have a balance between schoolwork, soccer, and my life outside of those. I've always been someone who needs to be doing new things or else I get bored, so having time to do so has been the best scenario for me. I also really like that I am put in a situation where I get to focus on self discipline, I have always been a very independent person so having the space where I can grow on holding myself accountable continues to be something I really enjoy. Since I get time where I don't have to be focused on school and soccer, I have the opportunity to meet people other than just those in my classes and my teammates. Being an international student I'm really happy that I can say I've met so many people who live around Chatham but also a lot of people who live from all over the United States! Overall, I have nothing bad to say about being a D3 athlete!
