TRAFFORD, Pa. - On Monday the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released their newest list of athletes of the week. The Cougars had players recognized in both Men's and Women's Lacrosse.
Jesse Corser-James was named the PAC Defensive Player of the Week, while
Bella Walski-Rodriguez was named the PAC Newcomer of the Week for the third time.
Corser-James recorded season highs in ground balls and caused turnovers in the Cougars mid-week victory at Muskingum where he recorded seven ground balls and six caused turnovers. He followed that up with a strong performance when the Cougars beat Hood to wrap up non-conference play on Saturday. He recorded five caused turnovers and four ground balls, ending the week with 11 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers.
Walski-Rodriguez earned her third Newcomer of the Week honor, previously winning on February 23rd and March 16th, after setting new career highs in goals, assists, points, ground balls and tying her career high in caused turnovers. In the Cougars victory over Bethany to open conference play, Walski-Rodriguez recorded four goals, two assists, six points, four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Corser-James and the Men's Lacrosse team will be back in action on March 25th when they take on W&J in their conference opener on the road at 7 PM.
Walski-Rodriguez and the Women's Lacrosse team will be back in action on March 28th when they travel to W&J for a PAC Semifinal Rematch at 2 PM.
