Bamford Named PAC Pitcher of the Week

TRAFFORD, Pa. - On Monday, the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its weekly award winners for Week 2 of the 2026 Baseball season.

Chatham senior RHP Matt Bamford took home the PAC Pitcher of the Week Award following an exceptional start on Sunday that led the Cougars to a victory over Wentworth.

Bamford tossed a 7-inning complete game against the Leopards, allowing just an earned run on two hits while striking out a program-record 13 batters. The Belle Vernon product surpassed the previous single-game record of 10 Ks in the fifth inning and did not allow a hit in the final four innings of the game.

Bamford has allowed just 3 earned runs in his last two starts, picking up the win in both. The senior's 2.08 so far in 2026 has helped the Cougars to a 6-1 record with a team ERA of 3.00 that is ranked second in the PAC.

Chatham has five games remaining in Florida this week, where they'll take the field next on Tuesday at 4:30 against Anna Maria.
