In 2024-25, Chatham Men's Hockey junior forward became the first Chatham athlete in a team sport to receive All-America honors. Cyprian, who set new Chatham single-season records for goals (14) and assists (20) and led the UCHC in points (34), was named the conference Player of the Year and was a nominee for the American Hockey Coaches Association's Sid Watson Award, which is given each year to the top player in D II-III Men's Hockey. Cyprian, who is also part of the golf club on campus, became the first ever Cougar to earn a First Team All-UCHC selection.

Read Nick's thoughts about Chatham and D3 athletics:

Why did you choose to play D3 athletics?
"I choose to play D3 athletics because I felt like I wasn't done playing yet after high school. I still had love for the game and felt like I hadn't reached my full potential yet."

What do you enjoy most about playing in D3 athletics?
"My favorite thing about playing in D3 athletics are the teammates and friends I have made along the way."

What would you say to someone interested in competing at the D3 level?
"Something I would say to someone that is interested in competing at the D3 level is keep grinding. I think I see a lot of people reach college athletics and give up on what got them there in the first place. Keep working hard and keep working on your skills and the rest will follow."

Why did you choose Chatham?
"I wanted to go somewhere that believed in me as player. After my talks with Coach Gershon before my freshman year, I felt like he saw me for the player I was, and I have always been a Penguins fan since I was a kid, so moving to Pittsburgh to possibly see a couple games seemed like a pretty good deal to me."

How has Chatham set you up for success, both athletically and academically?
"Chatham has set me up for success athletically due to the resources we get on the hockey team. The coaching staff emphasizes skill development and leadership, while the competitive yet inclusive team culture pushes me to grow. It has set me up for success academically due to the professors working around my competition schedule and programs to ensure I'm prepared for life after graduation. I feel like every teacher is easy to talk to as well as open to office hours if you may need."
