PITTSBURGH - After earning the program's first ever playoff win on Tuesday night in the PAC Quarterfinal, Chatham Women's Lacrosse will now face the one-seeded W&J Presidents in Washington on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Alexandre Stadium.
On Tuesday, the four-seeded Cougars spoiled the comeback attempt of the five-seeded Thiel Tomcats to hold on for a 9-8 victory. Senior
Felicia Hutter netted four goals and added an assist, while junior
Erin Goodwin provided two goals of her own. Additionally, the win marked the 10th of the season for the Cougars, which ties the program record from last season.
Chatham enters the game on a four-game win streak, which is tied for the longest in program history, while W&J, who earned a first-round bye as the one seed, has won 10 in a row.
In the regular season matchup between the two sides, Hutter totaled four points on three goals and an assist, while senior
Stephanie Walter added two goals and two assists, but the Presidents came away with a 20-13 victory. In the six all-time meetings, the Cougars have never beaten the Presidents.
Chatham ranks fourth in the PAC in goals per game at 12.2, while W&J sits atop the conference at 15.1. The Cougar offense has committed the least turnovers per game in the PAC at 17.8, with the Presidents a close second at just 19.2 giveaways per contest.
The winner between Chatham and W&J will advance to the PAC Final to play the winner of two-seeded Allegheny and three-seeded Grove City. A link to the tournament bracket can be found
