PITTSBURGH, Pa. - On Saturday, the No. 2 Cougars will take on the top seeded Grove City Wolverines in the PAC Championship Game with an NCAA National Tournament berth on the line. The Wolverines entered the season as the favorite to repeat as PAC Champions after beating the Cougars in the PAC Championship game last season. The Cougars will enter the game on a program record seven game winning streak.
The Cougars and Wolverines have played once this season, on April 1st. The Wolverines won by a final score of 9-3. The Cougars had goals scored by
Rachel Luomala, who had a team high two goals, and
Bella Walski-Rodriguez who scored one goal that game.
The Cougars and Wolverines have played seven times in program history with the Wolverines winning six, including the last five. The only time the Cougars have beaten the Wolverines was April 15th, 2023. The final score in that game was 14-10. This will be the third time the two teams have met in the playoffs, 2023 Quarterfinals and 2025 Finals, with the Wolverines winning both.
The Cougars will look to win their first PAC Championship in program history on Saturday May 2nd at 1 PM in Grove City, Pa.
