Box Score GROVE CITY, Pa. - On Saturday, the No. 2 Cougars took on the No. 1 Grove City Wolverines in the PAC Championship Game. The Cougars fell behind early and never recovered, falling 10-4.
The first half was controlled mainly by the Wolverines. In the first quarter Grove City opened a 3-0 lead. In the second quarter the Cougars got on the board for the first time but that was immediately followed by a pair of Wolverine goals. The Cougars ended the half with a two goal run of their own to make the halftime score 5-3. The Wolverines controlled the second half as they outrscored the Cougars 5-1 in the final two quarters. The Cougars ended the season with a program record 13-4 mark.
The Cougars were led offensively by
Marcella Valentine's two goals.
Madison Kata and
Campbell Murphy each had one goal and one assist as the only other Cougars with a point.
Rachel Luomala had a team high five ground balls.
Meghan Cuza-Berry made eight saves including four free position saves.
