Hutter Hat Tricks in Comeback Against Pioneers

Box Score MARIETTA, Oh. - Women's Lacrosse earned its second win in a comeback against the Marietta College Pioneers (4-3). After trailing 2-6 in the third quarter, the Cougars outscored the Pioneers 8-1.

Six players scored, led by senior Felicia Hutter's hat trick. Junior Sam Beall-Dennell (2) and graduate student Bailey Donofrio (2) combined for four goals. Juniors Syba Ismail, Erin Goodwin and senior Stephanie Walter each had one goal.

Beall-Dennall led the team with six ground balls, and Hutter had four draw controls.

Donofrio's two goals gave the Cougars an early 2-1 advantage in the first. However, Marietta responded with a 4-0 run to close out the first half with a 5-2 advantage.

In the second half, the Pioneers were first to the board, giving them their largest lead. Under five minutes later, Beall-Dennell's first score ignited a 5-0 run for the Cougars. Goodwin netted her fifth goal of the season 51 seconds later, and then Hutter fired off three straight scores to give Chatham a 7-6 advantage.

Halfway through the fourth, Marietta tied the game at seven a piece. This would be the last time the Pioneers scored, though, as Beall-Dennell, Walter and Ismail capped off an 8-1 scoring run for the comeback victory.

Freshman Meghan Cuza-Berry made 15 saves on 22 shots in the game. The shots favored the Cougars 32-28.

Chatham will host Mount Aloysius on Saturday at 4 p.m.
