TRAFFORD, Pa. - August 29, 2023 - This afternoon, the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released the Preseason Poll and Runners to Watch for the upcoming Men's Cross Country campaign.
Chatham Men's Cross Country was picked to finish eighth in the conference after receiving 32 vote points in the poll. Leading the poll was Allegheny with 90 points and six first-place votes.
Three Cougar juniors -
Ben Brown,
Ethan Kelley and
Brady Wingeart - were picked as Runners to Watch for the 2023 season.
Last season, Brown set new personal bests in the 8k (30:12.7) at Oberlin and in the 5 Mile (31:31.7) at Penn State Fayette.
Kelley set multiple personal bests in 2022, including a time of 28:50.3 in the 8k at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals and an 18:36.0 mark in the 5k at Chatham's Cougar Challenge which earned a second-place finish.
Wingeart, a member of Chatham Track & Field, will make his Cross Country debut in 2023.
Chatham Cross Country will open its season Sept. 1 with a meet at Westminster.
