PITTSBURGH, Pa. - March 21, 2023 - Chatham Women's Lacrosse captured a 17-12 victory over the Bard College Raptors in its final non-conference game of the season. The win improves the Cougars' record to 4-1.
Chatham's offense was led by senior attacker
Selena Justus, who had 3 goals and 7 assists, which tied the program record for assists in a game, set by
Brielle Rapsas two years ago to the day against Waynesburg.
Senior midfielder
Bailey Donofrio had five goals, while senior
Phallon Kilduff and junior
Sam Beall-Dennell each had hat tricks.
The Cougars scored on the first shot of the game just 13 seconds into the game and didn't look back, scoring the first four goals to take early command of the contest.Â
Bard won the second quarter 4-3 to cut the halftime lead to 7-5, but Chatham answered with seven goals in the third quarter. Two goals from Kilduff in the early part of the fourth gave the Cougars a 17-9 lead and put the game out of reach.
The shots on goal were 29-19 in favor of the Cougars. Chatham also won in draw controls 19-13.
Women's Lacrosse will open conference play next Tuesday at home against Waynesburg.
