Nic Rush is proud to announce that three Cougar pitchers have been slated to compete in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) for this upcoming summer.
Junior
Dom Costellic and sophomores
Dawson Morrow and
Drew Schreck will be playing together for the Rochester Ridgemen. As part of the 10-team league, the Ridgemen will play a schedule of 42 games, starting on June 5.
The NYCBL, which was founded in 1978, is sanctioned by the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB), National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF), and Major League Baseball. Three of the league's alumni were selected in the 2022 MLB Draft.
Several current and former Major Leaguers have played in the NYCBL. Current MLB players who played in the league include Mike Fiers, Tim Locastro, and JD Martinez. Notable former MLB players who spent a summer in the league include Dallas Braden, Rajai Davis, Tim Hudson, Brad Lidge, and Hunter Pence.
Costellic, Morrow, Screck and the Cougars will begin their season at home on Feb. 18 with a doubleheader against Hilbert College.
