OBERLIN, Ohio – October 16, 2021 – The Chatham women's and men's cross-country teams competed in their final tune-up before the PAC Championships at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble. The women finished 32
nd as a team while the men took home 35
th place.
The top Cougar runner in the 6k race was senior Esmee de Cortie, finishing in 183
rd with a time of 26:11.5. She narrowly beat out junior
Tresa Coon, who finished one slot behind her at 26:13.7.
The men's top finisher in the 8k race was senior
Brett Seich, crossing the tape at 30:01.9. Two other Cougars finished within the top 285 runners, with sophomore
Kristopher Longenecker wrapping up at 31:44.8 and first-year
Jack Matics finishing with a time of 31:57.6.
The Cougars have two weeks to prepare for the PAC Championships, which commences on Saturday, October 30. The women's race starts at 11:00 am and the men begin at 12 noon.
