Beginning Monday, June 29th, the Athletic & Fitness Center (AFC) will open in accordance with CDC guidelines and local government recommendations as part of Chatham's "green phase" gradual reopening over the summer.
During this time, it is our goal to provide quality services while working to protect the health and safety of AFC staff and patrons. To support this goal, the AFC will operate under modified hours and be closed each afternoon for deep cleaning. In addition to modified hours and daily deep cleaning, patrons can expect the following:
• Pre-registration for a desired time block and space will be required for facility users. Reserve your time at https://www.picktime.com/cuafc . You may choose one slot per day. Availability is subject to change. Facility use will be revoked for anyone who misses more than two scheduled workouts.
• Access to the facility will be limited to the main entrance on the ground floor.
• Face masks are required for all facility users and will be checked at the front door. Anyone without a mask will be denied entry.
• Everyone must present a Chatham University Student/Faculty/Staff ID & temperature screening card upon entry.
• The number of people permitted in the AFC will be limited & we will keep track of the capacity through our check-in check-out system.
• Physical distancing must be followed within the AFC.
• Guests are prohibited at this time.
• Lifting spotters will not be permitted.
• Contact sports, such as basketball and squash will be modified.
• Water fountains will be closed off, so please bring your own water with you.
• The equipment lending program (yoga mats, exercise bands, etc.) has been suspended. Please bring your own.
• There will be designated spaces for use of free weights, platforms etc. with no permission to remove the weights from the weight room.
• The pool, climbing wall, locker rooms, showers, the sauna, and the steam room are closed indefinitely.
If additional orders or other guidance is issued by authorities, we will update our protocols and inform the community accordingly.
