The Athletic and Fitness Center (AFC) The Athletic and Fitness Center, dedicated on October 22, 2004, is an advanced four-level athletic facility designed as a multi-purpose center designed by the St. Louis, Missouri firm of Hastings Chivetta for the entire campus.
The
lower level is home to the Sigo Falk Natatorium, which includes an eight-lane competition swimming pool with both 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards, whirlpool/sauna/steam room, locker rooms, two international competition squash courts, a rock-climbing wall with five different routes from beginner to experienced and the athletic training room. The athletic training room contains a hydrotherapy room and complete line of rehabilitation equipment.
The
main level of the facility houses the fitness room, which contains treadmills, elliptical machines, bikes, free weights, lifting platforms and circuit strength machines. This level also has an aerobics room, which is a multi-functional space where classes such as yoga, martial arts, aerobic fitness, and dance take place. In addition to the fitness and aerobics rooms, the main level also has a smart classroom, and a pool observation deck
The
second level offers access to the gymnasium, offices for the athletic coaches and staff and our recently added golf simulation room. The gymnasium seats 1000 spectators for athletic events. The golf simulator, added in the fall of 2018, features 10 different courses throughout the country
The top level of the facility has a three-lane walking track that also provides two stand alone, multifunctional fitness machines, workspace/seating and access to varsity field.
Comfortable seating is conveniently located throughout the center for students to relax with friends, watch television, or use a personal laptop with wireless internet access to work on school projects. The Athletic and Fitness Center also serves as the congregation space for large campus events and traditions, such as December Commencement.
