Softball Drops DH at Saint Vincent on Thursday

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LATROBE, PA – April 5, 2018 – The Chatham University softball team fell twice at Saint Vincent on Thursday in road PAC action, dropping game one 16-7 in five innings before falling 5-2 in the nightcap.
 
RECORDS: Chatham falls to 2-14 (0-4 PAC) while Saint Vincent improves to 13-3 (4-0 PAC).
 
WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars are slated to host Geneva on Saturday, April 7 at 1 pm.
 
GAME ONE (Saint Vincent 16, Chatham 7 – 5 innings)
 
AT THE PLATE: Senior Kasandra Petersen (Faribault, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's) finished 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run scored.
 
First-year Julie Swedberg (San Bruno, Calif./Capuchino) went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI while first-year Alexis Gonzalez (Riverside, Calif./Rancho Cucamonga) finished 1-for-2 with two RBI.
 
Sophomore Tess Weaver (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) enjoyed a 2-for-3 outing with two runs and sophomore Marissa Wightman (Cypress, Calif./Cypress) went 1-for-2 with one RBI and one run.
 
IN THE CIRCLE: Sophomore Madison Howell (Huntington, W.V./Huntington) suffered the loss, fanning two Bearcats in the defeat.
 
GAME TWO (Saint Vincent 5, Chatham 2)
 
AT THE PLATE: The Cougars pounded 10 hits, as Wightman, Gonzalez and sophomore Kassandra Deane (Ambridge, Pa./Ambridge Area) all collected two hits apiece.
 
IN THE CIRCLE: Swedberg suffered the loss, scattering eight hits while striking out two.
