Cougars improve win streak to four with victory over Mount St. Joseph

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. – APRIL 22nd, 2018 – The Cougars have advanced to a four game win streak after defeating Mount St. Joseph 12-11.  
 
THE SHORT STORY
It was a close game down to the final minutes but the Cougars were able to come away with a win. At the half, Chatham and Mount St. Joseph were tied 8-8. The Cougars came out strong scoring four unanswered goals in the second half. Mount St. Joseph tried to come back but the Cougars would outlast the Lions 12-11.
 
KEY COUGARS
Sydney Collins led the team in scoring with four goals. Collins added five ground balls, four caused turnovers and three draw controls. Kendra McBroom, Madison Black and Anna Prendergast each registered two goals. McBroom tallied one assist, five ground balls, two caused turnovers and two draw controls. Prendergast chipped in two assists and two draw controls. Jenifer McLaren and Kristina Block recorded one goal. McLaren picked up one assist and four ground balls. On the defensive end, Michelle Jones forced four caused turnovers and registered two ground balls. Maria Cefola was in the net all 60 minutes for the Cougars. Cefola finished with 20 saves and four ground balls.

Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA is a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and offers nine Division III women's sports and seven men's sports. Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five men's sports competing this academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
